The races listed here are not all the races there are in Imperia as more will be later added onto the list. If you know of a race that you wanted added then please Email Zarak with the name of the race and a reference source of the race (Such as an AD&D Monstrous Manual or Planescape Monstrous Compendium. Anything as long as it's from an RP Source) and the race shall be added to the list. Your choice of character race is not restricted to those listed as they are here only for reference and to give many people various options. For more information about the creatures listed please ask an Op in our OOC (Out of Character) Channel of #Imperia. Remember the races listed here as for recommendations, not requirements. For most races Imperia prefers to use the guidelines as set down by other reference materials and those guidelines that we adhere to are listed in the main info of the race. Any listed as "Custom" means that those races are original to the Imperia setting itself. Any reading depends on the level of the race as they go from 1-5, increasing in complexity.

Rudimentary. Basic roleplaying race. Highly recommended for newbies, however they can be playing into a far more complex role as the player grows.

Still fairly simple, requiring basic knowledge of racial background. A step up from level one, if a newer player is looking to be adventurous in the expansion of their roleplay.

Middle of the road play. Requires a fair amount of racial background knowledge, but a great deal of the character's traits can still be conjured up from imagination. Recommended for the player who seeks some structure, but still prefers some flexibility in the traits of the characters they're creating. It is recommended that one have a few months of roleplaying experience under their belts before attempting to harness these creatures.

Difficult. Not only do these creatures require a great deal of background knowledge to play, but they also tend to have quirks that may cause other races to dislike them. Great care must be taken in roleplaying the personalities of these creatures, as some of their more flagrant differences would undoubtedly lead to trouble for the roleplayer, if not properly handled.

Extremely difficult. These races are so far entwined into the socio-political structure of Imperia that they would be impossible to play without solid background and experience. Permission must be granted by an op/plotmaster (Specifically the creator of the race) in order to be played. Most members of these races are rarely seen. This is due to a combination of their difficulty and their acceptance among the more common races.

Non-Playable Race. Due to reasons of power, these races are restricted and not for play.

A Rating for this race is pending however it can be played. Please inquire with Zarak about it.
